About Amerikanska Gymnasiet, Stockholm - Campus Frescati Hage In autumn 2023, we opened a gymnasium near Brunnsviken in the beautiful Norra Djurgården area. This autumn, the school enters its fourth academic year with approximately 500 students studying in the Science, Economics, or Social Sciences programs. Teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish by a competent teaching team with strong community spirit. About the Position As a Special Education Teacher, you work with the school's student support team and play an important role in preventive and promoting efforts. You also work operationally to support teachers in teaching situations, where classroom observations are an important part of daily work. You ensure that students receive appropriate support and that teachers have the knowledge to make teaching accessible to all students. You work closely with school leadership and serve as an extension of ensuring that teachers and students have the right conditions to succeed. Together with school leadership, you are responsible for planning and implementing support at individual, group, and organizational levels, as well as for students with special needs. In collaboration with teachers and guardians, you provide support in adapting studies for students. You develop action plans and conduct assessments, such as pedagogical evaluations, as needed. You also support school leaders on school development matters and actively participate in the school's development work. You will support students with structure, planning, and study skills. We expect you to be well-versed in compensatory aids and have competence in digital learning tools. In the future, the position may also include coordinating responsibilities. This is a permanent full-time position (100%) starting August 3rd or by agreement, preceded by a 6-month probationary period. Your Profile We are looking for someone with a degree in special education or special teaching, and preferably someone who also holds a teacher certification. Previous work experience in the field is a requirement. It is also an advantage if you have worked with upper secondary students. You have experience creating action plans and conducting pedagogical assessments, as well as solid knowledge of and experience working with students with reading and writing difficulties. You also have knowledge of and experience with language development teaching methods. You maintain a professional approach in interactions with students, colleagues, and guardians, with good understanding of individuals' different circumstances. You collaborate easily and build strong working relationships with a coaching and mentoring approach. As a person, you are solution-oriented. You see opportunities and consistently guide challenges and problems toward solutions. You maintain a thoroughly positive attitude.
