About the Position As a special education teacher, you will have an important role in the school's student welfare team. You will work closely with students, teachers, and school leadership. As a special education teacher, you participate in promoting and preventive work for students' development. You work consultatively with educators and other professionals at the school, mentor staff, have supportive conversations with students, and conduct assessments and evaluations at the organizational, group, and individual levels together with the rest of the student welfare team. As a special education teacher, you always keep the educational mission in focus, and your work also includes sharing knowledge with guardians and colleagues at the school. Your work involves close collaboration with classroom teachers where together you can find the best conditions for all students to succeed. You will be a conversation partner and advisor to teachers on questions regarding students' language, writing, reading, and mathematics development. You are also up-to-date on compensatory aids and can use them in teaching. The assignment includes: - Participating in the student welfare team's work - Having conversations and supporting students in their development toward their goals - Conducting assessments, mappings, and establishing intervention programs in consultation with the welfare team and mentors - Participating in and leading class conferences - Participating in external meetings with social services, child psychiatric services, special needs coordination meetings, etc. - Actively supporting students and teachers in the classrooms - Teaching individual students or small groups - Coordinating and providing study help/homework help together with resources - Responsibility for students' pedagogical attachments/handovers from primary schools - Writing supplementary funding applications and supporting school leadership organizationally in special education work What You Need to Bring Qualifications We are looking for someone who: - Is trained as a special education teacher and primary school teacher and is passionate about motivating and inspiring students in their learning - Has strong relational competence and enjoys collaboration - Is flexible, solution-focused, and positive – even when facing challenges - Is experienced in using digital learning tools and has good IT knowledge - Expresses yourself clearly in speech and writing, and sees communication as a key to success Do you want to be part of a school that takes both students' and teachers' development seriously – and where joy in work is palpable?
