Special Education Teacher/Special Pedagogue at Hedskolan

Organization Description Hedskolan is a 3-stream grades F-6 school with an adapted primary program. We have approximately 500 students and 100 staff members. We are centrally located in Gällivare municipality, within walking distance of the sports hall, swimming pool, etc. Hedskolan has a well-established approach to collaborative learning that encompasses all parts of the curriculum. We can therefore offer continuous professional development led by driven process leaders, PAX and IBIS instructors, and IT pedagogues. The adapted primary program is divided by both subjects/subject areas and grade levels. Responsibilities As a special education teacher/special pedagogue at Hedskolan, you will be part of the special education team at the school. You will help create opportunities where all students are offered the chance to achieve learning goals and where learning is experienced as meaningful, stimulating, and enjoyable. You will mentor educators on special education matters, build trusting relationships with staff, students, and guardians, and coordinate interventions needed to provide our students with optimal conditions for development. Individual Education Plans, additional accommodations, and organizational matters will be a constant focus of your work. Qualifications Licensed teacher with further education as a special education teacher/special pedagogue. You should be conscientious, clear, and driven, with an ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Commitment, solution-focused thinking, innovation, interest in and ability to collaborate are qualities the school values. Previous experience working with students with learning disabilities is a merit. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. As part of the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is a merit when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality. A criminal records clearance is required upon employment.
