At Bjästa School, we are now looking for an engaged and development-oriented special education teacher or special pedagogue who wants to be an important part of our work to create the best conditions for all students' learning and development. Bjästa School is an F–9 school with approximately 380 students and is located in the beautiful natural surroundings of Bjästa, about two miles south of Örnsköldsvik. The school is part of the Nätra school district together with Köpmanholmenskolan and Sidensjöskolan. Here we work together to create a safe, inclusive, and educational environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed. Work Responsibilities As a special education teacher/special pedagogue, you are a key person in the school's student welfare work and pedagogical development. You work closely with teachers, the student welfare team, guardians, and school leadership to create good conditions for students' learning. Your main responsibilities are to: • Identify, analyze, and follow up on students' needs for special support. • Conduct pedagogical assessments and contribute to intervention programs. • Provide support to students individually, in small groups, and through guidance to educators. • Support the work with additional accommodations and inclusive learning environments. • Actively participate in the student welfare team's work. • Contribute to the school's systematic quality work and development of instruction. If you are new to your profession, Örnsköldsvik Municipality has an introduction program for new teachers where you will be assigned a mentor during your first year. Your mentor is an experienced teacher with the same subject credentials who can guide and support you. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree as a special education teacher or special pedagogue. We are looking for someone who enjoys being challenged and thinking creatively, who sees differences and diversity as a foundation for learning and development. You are a trusted adult and a clear leader in the classroom. Being a role model and creating a good atmosphere in the student group and work team is self-evident to you. We would appreciate if you have experience leading group processes, the ability to create structure, and the ability to adapt instruction based on the group's and individuals' needs. During the interview, we will conduct an identity verification and check citizenship. Approved documents are a passport, international ID card, driver's license + ID certificate from the Swedish Tax Agency, or other ID documents that verify citizenship. For some positions, an extract from the police's suspicion and criminal record register must be presented. We appreciate language skills in Finnish and/or one of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.
