The school is a municipal elementary school located in Vårberg, near Vårberg's center. The school is safe and pleasant and has approximately 370 students from preschool class through grade 6, plus 60 staff members. The school's organization is built on year-based work teams in grades K-3 with integrated after-school care, grades 4-6ab, as well as practical-aesthetic teachers. After-school care staff are also part of the K-3 work teams and contribute to students' development and learning through collaboration. The school has an open after-school program for students in grades 4–6. Staff in all school activities demonstrate great commitment and skill, they see possibilities and contribute to the school's positive development. The school's combined competence is very high. Job Responsibilities In your role as a special education teacher/special education specialist, you work closely with teachers and after-school care staff in grades K and 1. You have a genuine understanding of play's importance for language learning and can inspire your teacher colleagues to teach with play as a method. You work toward the goal that all students will reach learning objectives and develop as individuals, and that students will feel that school provides a sense of coherence. Of course, you work with specialized interventions for students regarding both additional support and special needs support. You are part of a specialist group at the school consisting of 3 special education teachers and an overarching special education specialist who leads your work. Your responsibilities include planning together with teachers and teaching students in class and possibly individually, as well as providing support and advice to teachers and work teams about accommodations within the classroom. You support colleagues and work teams in creating high-quality pedagogical assessments and intervention programs. We view the student from a holistic perspective where social competencies and good health are important parts that complement knowledge acquisition. We create a good learning climate by building on students' inherent resources and strengthening their self-image. All students have responsibility for and influence over their own learning development, the class's work, and the school as a whole. Qualifications You have teaching certification with eligibility for the early years and special education teacher training/special education specialist training. You must have reading and writing instruction in your education.
