Position and Workplace Description We are now seeking a special education teacher who is passionate about student development and wants to contribute to supportive and preventive instruction together with teachers, the student wellness team, and school leadership at Sundbornsskolan and Danholnsskolan in the Svärdsjö school district! Sundbornsskolan is a brand new F-6 school with approximately 160 students, and Danholnsskolan is an F-4 school with approximately 80 students. Both schools are located in wonderful settings where our outstanding students have excellent opportunities to succeed in school thanks to a dedicated staff of about 35 employees. We need to strengthen our team with a special education teacher so we can better meet students' needs and further develop our instruction for improved learning outcomes. Responsibilities As a special education teacher with us, you work in a preventive, supportive, and intervention capacity. Your responsibilities include: Guidance and support for teachers in developing instruction, adaptations, and learning environments that benefit all students. Analyze results and instruction, both your own and in collaboration with teachers, to identify needs and areas for development. Intervention work with students who need extra or specialized support – in small groups, one-on-one instruction, and through targeted interventions. Conduct pedagogical assessments and evaluations, analyze and assess student needs, and develop documentation for, for example, reading and writing assessments. Contribute expertise in materials, methods, and approaches, with broad experience in various pedagogical tools. Document, follow up on, and evaluate interventions at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You will be an important part of both the school's and the school district's student wellness team. Qualifications The role requires: Licensed teacher at the primary or intermediate level with a Special Education degree with a focus on reading, writing, and language development or mathematics. Personal Qualities We see that you as a person can capture and stimulate students' curiosity, interest, and learning. You work toward community, safety, and knowledge. You are also a positive team player who contributes and fits naturally into the school's team. Furthermore, you have the knowledge and ability to work independently as a special education teacher for students with special support needs in the school. Meritorious Qualifications Experience with various materials, methods, and assessment tools within your specialization. Experience leading change and development work related to instruction within your specialization. Experience analyzing results and using this to design instruction at both group and individual levels, both in collaboration with teachers and independently.
