We need a special education teacher in Swedish/Swedish as a second language as our current teacher is moving on to another position. Södermalmsskolan is part of the central school district and has approximately 850 students from preschool through grade 9. The facilities and schoolyard are divided into sections for grades F-3, 4-6, and 7-9, with each level having its own naturally defined area to promote play and activity. The school has 130 competent staff members who work together to strengthen students' achievement of educational goals. This position is a temporary vacation replacement. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES You will work at grades 7-9 with a focus on Swedish and Swedish as a second language. At our school, we expect you to take a relational perspective with a strong focus on health-promoting and preventive work in student welfare. There is a strong focus on supporting teachers in developing instruction that reaches all students in the class. You contribute to adapting instruction so that all students, regardless of background, have equal opportunities to develop in accordance with curriculum guidelines. You monitor and document student learning, identify success factors, and drive development initiatives that strengthen instruction and student progression. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who: • is qualified to teach grades 7-9 in Swedish/Swedish as a second language • has a special education teacher degree, but we also welcome those near the end of their special education teacher training • has previous work experience in the teaching profession • can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish, as language is our primary tool. We consider it an advantage if you have previous experience with language and knowledge development work. To succeed in the role of special education teacher with us, you are calm, stable, and composed in stressful situations. You are self-directed, take responsibility for your work tasks, and find it easy to create structure in your planning and instruction. You must have good collaboration skills since you will work closely with both students and teachers at the school. This means you listen, communicate, and support our students and teachers in a constructive manner. It is also important that you are relationship-building and have good understanding of students' different circumstances, and that you adapt your way of communicating messages. We ask those who have a teaching license and special education teacher degree to attach these documents with your application. Employment type: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent, start date: August 10, 2026 or by agreement.
