Your main responsibilities are to plan and implement instruction for our students. You work with guidance, organizational development, and student welfare based on our students' needs. As a special education teacher, you work to ensure that students achieve the best possible development, both academically and socially, and actively encourage and stimulate students to develop as much as possible to meet learning standards. In your role, you are a team leader for the class you work in and thus also hold pedagogical responsibility for the activities to be conducted. You are also part of the school's teaching team and are expected to contribute to the school's overall development. As a teacher at our school, you have 40 hours of workplace time and 5 hours of discretionary working time per week. Your work with our students also includes care-based tasks. Qualifications You are a certified teacher with a special education teacher degree with a focus on intellectual disabilities. We would appreciate it if you have experience with TAKK, as this is one of the communication methods our students use. Previous experience working with children and young people with autism is considered a merit. You have the ability to interpret social interactions and signals in students and work in a low-arousal manner. You have good insight into and knowledge of the adapted school's governing documents and can effectively use them in your daily work. Furthermore, you have strong didactic and pedagogical skills and can therefore lead and organize your work to create a focused study environment and good learning conditions for our students throughout their school day. In your work, you find strategies to reach each student and strengthen them in their personal development. Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work and, with good knowledge and practice, you work effectively with relevant digital tools. You have an unpretentious approach and see the value in learning from and together with others. As a person, you also take on the role of an adult role model and are calm and trustworthy in your interactions with our students. About the Workplace Sockerbruksskolan is an adapted primary school for students with autism and intellectual disabilities (ID), with recreational activities and short-term care according to LSS §9.7 in the same facilities with the same staff. The school is located in Oxie kyrkby, with proximity to green areas, swimming facilities, and Oxie centrum. We have approximately 25 students distributed across seven small classes with 3-4 students in each. The number of places at the school varies depending on the need for physical adaptations for students. Many of our students study subject areas. Both school management and staff working with students have expertise and experience in low-arousal approaches (LAB), clarifying pedagogy, autism, and intellectual variations (ID).
