We have more than 3,200 employees across 40 preschools, 22 primary schools, and four secondary schools. We are deeply committed to ensuring that all children and students receive high-quality education, have the opportunity to develop, and reach their full potential. In Botkyrka, we see that success in school is the key to a good life and the strongest protective factor for the future. The Role and Responsibilities As a special education teacher/special educator, you will be an important part of making Botkyrka municipality Sweden's best school municipality, where all students have the opportunity to succeed in school and develop according to their unique circumstances. Hammerstaskolan is now looking for you to help build a specialized teaching group at the forefront of education! As a special education teacher in a municipal specialized teaching group (KÖSU) with a focus on language disorders, you will have a teaching assignment where you work closely with students every day while helping develop the program from the ground up. The goal is for each student in the group to be given the best possible conditions to develop linguistically, academically, and socially in language-supporting and accessible environments—both physically and pedagogically. Your main responsibilities are: Teach students in KÖSU based on their individual needs, with special focus on language development integrated into subject instruction Map, analyze, and follow up on students' knowledge and language development in close collaboration with other teaching colleagues in the group Provide guidance and support to colleagues in pedagogical and didactic work to develop inclusive learning environments where students can develop to the greatest extent possible Collaborate with the school's study and career counselor regarding students' transitions and long-term school progress Contribute special education expertise to the school's student support team and in collaboration with guardians and external stakeholders Help establish KÖSU's common working methods—including a shared lesson structure for active instruction and the program's systematic quality work Work with documentation, follow-up, and evaluation of interventions In Botkyrka, you will be met with diversity, commitment, and a strong belief that all students can succeed. Here you will find curious students who want to learn and colleagues who are passionate about developing instruction—together we make a difference. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone with teaching certification and special education training in language, writing, and reading development, or a special educator with relevant experience working with students with language disorders. You have strong knowledge of language and knowledge-developing teaching methods, cooperative methods, interdisciplinary/thematic work, accessible learning environments, and special education pedagogy in both smaller teaching groups and more targeted interventions. You are experienced in working with process-oriented approaches with clear goals and sub-goals, are willing to think outside the box based on analyses at the group and individual level, and have the courage to try new things, implement methods, and follow up on the work completed. You collaborate easily with others and are adaptable to emerging needs and any reprioritization that may follow. We are looking for a team player with patience and commitment to your assignment and all students' right to education. A relational approach is a natural part of how you work, and you are curious about what KÖSU's compensatory work should look like in our specific program. The assignment requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for various tasks, purposes, and audiences. We are looking for someone who has: Teaching certification and a special education degree in language, writing, and reading development, or a special education degree with relevant experience working with students with language disorders Experience working as a special education teacher or special educator (for special education degree holders: experience with direct work with students) and strong didactic skills Strong knowledge of language and knowledge-developing teaching methods, cooperative methods, and station-based work It is an advantage if you also have knowledge of: Prorenata Visual supports Alternative communication As a person, you are curious and interested in keeping up to date with the special education research field.
