Askimsskolan – a school with a passion for learning with both heart and mind. The school is located in the northern part of Askim, near the Sisjön nature area. Approximately 310 students attend the school from preschool class through grade 6. The school also has an after-school program with six departments. Job Responsibilities In your role as a special education teacher, you guide staff and serve as a qualified discussion partner, advisor, and support. You conduct pedagogical assessments such as reading, writing, and mathematics evaluations and analyze students' support needs. The work involves active participation in the school's student wellbeing efforts together with other specialists on the student wellbeing team, and you support the principal with information for decisions regarding measures for students in need of special support. It is also important that you collaborate with other school forms and external expertise. Together with the school's leadership team, you drive the development of pedagogical work with a particular focus on meeting the needs of all students. You also participate in developing the facility's learning environments. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is trained as a special education teacher and has extensive knowledge of health-promoting, preventive, and intervention-based student wellbeing work. Previous experience working as a special education teacher is a merit. It is also a merit if you have worked as a mentor and have training in this area. As a person, you take responsibility for both your own and shared work tasks with the students' best interests in focus. You are engaged in your work, take your responsibilities seriously, and ensure that what you start is completed with good quality. You work in a structured and thorough manner to ensure that work tasks are performed correctly. You are driven by contributing to others' learning and have a strong ability to create conditions for development and knowledge creation. By adapting your communication style, you can explain information and problems clearly for different audiences and from multiple perspectives.
