Description Adapted Upper Secondary School currently consists of the Individual Program, National Program, Adapted Education for Adults, Short-term Supervision, and the school café. The operations are growing and developing — and we are proud that our students run three student companies, which gives them the opportunity to develop entrepreneurship, participation, and work-life skills. In the Individual Program, we work in a team with a strong focus on students, great passion, and high professionalism. We meet students with intellectual disabilities, and teaching is individually adapted, functional, and closely related to everyday life. We work in small teams with educators and student assistants in student groups, using a relational approach and low-affect interaction as a foundation. Our learning environment is clear, structured, and accessible. Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) is a natural part of the work, such as the use of visual supports and sign language. Responsibilities Plan, implement, and follow up on instruction within the five subject areas of the Individual Program. Create an accessible, clear, and structured learning environment through language development methods, clarifying pedagogy, and AAC. Work with low-affect interaction and a relational approach in all parts of instruction. Lead and collaborate closely with a team of student assistants to together create safety, predictability, and meaningful instruction. Adapt instruction based on each student's communicative, social, and cognitive conditions. Work together with the student well-being team on strategies, adaptations, and student well-being initiatives. Participate in the organization's collegial learning through shared reflection, analysis, and planning. Actively participate in systematic quality work, where documentation, follow-up, and analysis are a natural part of the work. Collaborate both internally and externally. Qualifications Teacher's degree and Special Education Teacher training with specialization in intellectual disabilities. We also welcome applications from those with early childhood education or after-school program teaching qualifications who are interested in beginning special education teacher training.
