The Education Administration oversees all activities within the municipality's preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, after-school centers, upper secondary school, and adult education. Rainbow School and Munkebo School are our adapted primary schools and offer both instruction and after-school activities in a safe and nurturing environment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are seeking an engaged and creative special education teacher specializing in intellectual disabilities (ID) for our adapted primary school. You have a strong passion for working with students with varying needs and abilities and are committed to creating an inclusive and meaningful learning experience where each student has the opportunity to develop at their own level. As a special education teacher, you are responsible for a group of students where you plan, implement, and evaluate instruction based on the adapted primary school curriculum. You lead and mentor educational assistants in daily work to ensure a structured, safe, and accessible learning environment for the students. You adapt content, teaching methods, and the learning environment so that students have the best possible conditions to participate and succeed. The instruction is characterized by clear structure, variety, and a calm, low-affect approach. You collaborate closely with the teaching team, student support services, and guardians to create a safe, accessible, and nurturing learning environment. You contribute your special education expertise to systematic quality improvement work and in the process of providing accommodations and specialized support. Communication, student participation, and the child's overall development are central. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who • Holds a teacher certification with a special education specialization in intellectual disabilities • Has experience working in an adapted primary school (desirable) • Has strong ability to adapt instruction based on individual needs • Knowledge of neuropsychological functioning and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) is desirable You are clear in your leadership and have excellent collaboration skills with colleagues, students, and guardians. You are flexible, relationship-oriented, and have an inclusive approach where you see each student's potential and strengths. Employment Type: Permanent position. Duration: Permanent.
