Ref: 20261724 Duties Broskolan is seeking a special education teacher with a specialization in intellectual disabilities (IF) to work at our adapted primary school with a subject-focused approach. The main part of the position consists of teaching and instruction-related tasks. You will have overall responsibility for planning and implementing education for students in a class of approximately five students. You will be part of a team consisting of teachers, preschool teachers, and educational assistants at our adapted primary school, working together for each student's best educational experience. In your role, you have significant responsibility in contact with guardians. You work across class boundaries and collaborative teamwork is an integral part of the assignment. The educational assistants/preschool teachers working in the class are co-teachers, which means you will also lead and guide them in their work with students. The focus is on creating the best possible conditions for each student's learning and development. Qualifications You are a licensed teacher with further education as a special education teacher specializing in intellectual disabilities (IF). You have knowledge and experience working as a special education teacher with a subject-area focus, with students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, extensive autism, ADHD, emotional/behavioral difficulties, and personal care needs. You need knowledge and experience with AAC (augmentative and alternative communication), be able to use TAKK and GAKK to provide students with tools to develop their communication. Experience leading educational assistants in work with students is meritious. You have good computer skills and experience using digital tools in teaching. Your assignment also includes hygiene support for students during the school day. You also need to have some swimming ability and be able to participate in the pool with students during their swimming instruction. You are well familiar with the school's governing documents and actively work with leadership and stimulation as well as with extra adaptations and special support. You are experienced working with low-affect approaches and using clear pedagogical tools. Furthermore, you have good didactic and pedagogical skills, which enable you to independently lead and organize your work to create a conducive learning environment and good atmosphere for our students throughout the day. As a person, you are engaged and trustworthy, with a strong interest in student well-being and school development. You have an open and creative approach and adapt your work to students' needs. The assignment is characterized by close collaboration with colleagues and guardians, so it is important that you work well with others. It is important that you can work independently while also gaining energy from collaborating with others. You are a natural leader who can support and encourage others and easily adapt to changes.
