Job Description Are you a special education teacher or special educator seeking new challenges? Challenges whose results truly make a difference? Then apply for this position with us! Since our students often have extensive support needs and gaps in their educational background, you as a special education teacher or special educator have a key role in our operations. With us, you will work closely with students through support instruction—individually and in small groups as needed—while also mentoring teachers and developing both the physical and psychosocial learning environment. Additionally, you will conduct pedagogical assessments and evaluations for young people placed in the facility's intake and needs assessment unit, as well as for other residents in preparation for decisions regarding special support. As a special education teacher or special educator, you will have a clear and leading role within the student support team and serve on the principal's steering group for the school organization. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with or working toward a special education teacher or special educator degree. Since our students often have significant support needs and we have relatively high student turnover, we welcome applicants with all specializations (language, writing and reading development, mathematics development, and intellectual disabilities). You have experience working as a special education teacher or special educator in primary and/or upper secondary school and have solid knowledge within the field of neuropsychological and functional assessment. It is an advantage if you have experience working in introductory programs. Furthermore, you are well-versed in various special education tools and theories, conducting pedagogical assessments and testing, and working with compensatory aids—digital tools being essential. Your work and instruction in the classroom are characterized by a low-affect approach. You challenge and inspire students to reach their full potential in knowledge development as well as develop their social skills, based on their individual circumstances. Students are always the focus of your work. You have confidence in their abilities and are curious and motivated to find pathways to success for each individual. Through your approach, you create security, trust, and positive relationships. Significant weight will be placed on personal suitability. We expect you to be a clear pedagogical leader with good organizational skills and a professional, evidence-based approach where proven experience is a fundamental foundation. You further have strong collaboration skills, are solution-focused, and flexible in your work style. It is an advantage if you have some form of process leadership training or other relevant leadership training, alternatively experience leading groups or work teams within a school setting. Your Swedish language skills are strong both verbally and in writing, as part of your role includes writing pedagogical reports and expert opinions. Does this sound like a challenge for you?
