Job Description Our adapted primary school is growing rapidly! This school year we have expanded our adapted primary school and we offer you the opportunity to be part of this exciting journey. You'll have the opportunity to work in completely new facilities and join a staff with a good work climate and a strong desire to collaborate to achieve common goals. The position is a permanent role as a special education teacher in our adapted primary school and mentor for one of our classes where students are in intermediate and upper secondary grades and the majority take subjects. Our adapted primary school classes are locally integrated. During the 26/27 school year, we have had 32 enrolled students taking both subjects and subject areas. The staff working in the adapted primary school consists of preschool teachers, special education teachers, after-school care teachers, resource pedagogues, and student assistants. During after-school care time, we collaborate with the primary school's after-school care. You have primary responsibility for instruction, supervision of student assistants, contacts with guardians, and other stakeholders. Together with driven and competent colleagues and with support from school leadership, you have a responsibility for all students to reach their goals and for the overall operation. We're looking for you who wants to work in a co-teaching model and together with a colleague take responsibility for planning and implementing instruction to meet students' needs in the best way. You are engaged, initiative-taking, positive, and have good collaboration skills. In your work, you are clear and structured. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. We work daily with adaptations that promote our students' communication and their opportunities for development, for example alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) and sign language support (TAKK). Qualifications We're looking for you who have teaching certification and a special education teacher degree with a focus on intellectual disabilities. You should have previous experience working in an adapted primary school. You should have knowledge about autism and intellectual disabilities. You have experience or a strong desire to work in a teaching team with shared planning and implementation. You are well familiar with alternative and augmentative communication, TAKK, and AAC. You are a good role model, like structure and order, are full of ideas, and see every interaction with students as an opportunity. Even if you have other teaching certification for grades 1-9 and experience working in an adapted primary school, you are welcome to apply for the position. Stockholm City works with competence-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thereby preventing discrimination. To work at our schools, you must provide a valid extract from the police's criminal record and suspicion register before an employment offer is made.
