Your Responsibilities The role as coordinator for special education support (SENCO) involves coordinating and developing the special education work at the school together with special educators. You will be part of the school's student welfare team (EHT) and coordinate resources and interventions for students in need of special support. You will also serve as a discussion partner and sounding board for colleagues, principals, guardians, and other stakeholders on both support-related and pedagogical matters. As a special education teacher, you have overall responsibility for special education work and work with students in need of special support. In your work, you are expected to contribute to identifying and mapping students' support needs and ensure that the working methods used are research-based and measurable to the greatest extent possible. Your task is to ensure good quality in diagnostic assessments and current support as well as the establishment of support plans. In your role as a special education teacher, you have an important task in supporting work with students who risk not reaching nationally set goals. You work both in the classroom in collaboration with teaching staff, with smaller student groups, and in individual instruction, and you are responsible for following up results and screenings at individual, group, and school levels. Your Workplace Hjulsbroskolan is a grades F-6 school located in a nature-rich setting on the outskirts of Linköping. It is easily accessible by both bus and car. Approximately 275 students learn and develop at the school with support from our dedicated teachers. About You We are looking for you who have teaching certification for primary school and a special education teacher degree. It is a requirement that you have previous work experience in the pedagogical work that the teaching role entails. It is meritorious if you have: - Special education teacher training with a focus on language, writing, and literacy development. - Experience teaching grades F-6. - Previous experience working as a special education teacher, SENCO, or school development work. You have good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. This is so that, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you can organize and carry out work in a way that supports students' language and communication development. You have a positive approach and bring enthusiasm and energy to your work. You have a good ability to create participation in the operation and can build and maintain relationships in the workplace. You have good insight into how people acquire knowledge and can adapt your way of conveying messages to others. You communicate in a clear manner. You are confident in yourself and put relationships in their proper perspective. Furthermore, you take responsibility for your tasks and drive your processes forward.
