Rinmangymnasiet has approximately 1,300 students and operates in central facilities in Eskilstuna. The school specializes in natural sciences, technology, and service. The school offers the Child and Leisure Program, Industrial Technology Program, Natural Science Program, Restaurant and Food Program, Technology Program, Health and Care Program, Vocational Introduction Program, and Language Introduction Program. The Adapted Upper Secondary School is voluntary and serves students with intellectual disabilities. We have our own curriculum and consist of the national programs Health, Care and Welfare, Society, Nature and Language, Property and Construction, Hotel and Restaurant, as well as individual programs. The Adapted Upper Secondary School is located at Rinmangymnasiet and Skjulsta. As a colleague, you will be part of a work team with extensive experience working with students with intellectual disabilities and possible NPF diagnoses. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a special education teacher with us, you work closely with students in collaboration with student assistants and colleagues. Together we work to develop individually adapted teaching methods based on each student's abilities and needs. Your area of responsibility involves planning the pedagogical work and then implementing the instruction together with your colleagues, where you also mentor student assistants. The role also includes mentoring. You teach theoretical subjects with grades in the programs Health, Care and Welfare, Society, Nature and Language, and Hotel and Restaurant. Teaching is governed by the School Act and is based on curricula and course plans as well as GY25 and GY13. The courses include subjects such as Swedish, mathematics, English, social studies/natural sciences, and information and communication among other subjects. Teaching may also occur within subject areas in individual programs. Classroom collaboration occurs with both assistants and educators, as parts of our courses use a two-teacher system. Communication and collaboration with other colleagues is important, as daily dialogue is required. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have teacher certification. You have basic computer skills and are experienced working with digital tools and programs. It is highly advantageous if you are trained as a special education teacher or have an ongoing education that will be completed soon. Specialization in intellectual disabilities is particularly advantageous. It is also highly advantageous if you are a primary school teacher by training, have knowledge of clarifying pedagogy, or have experience working in an adapted school. It is advantageous if you have a driver's license category B. Experience teaching multiple theoretical subjects to this target group is also advantageous. The same applies to experience using visual supports and/or other pedagogical tools in teaching. Personal qualities are important for success in this role. You are calm, stress-resilient, and have a secure approach to students. You can work according to a structured schedule and at the same time quickly step in for colleagues when needed. You are collaboration-oriented, can quickly find new solutions, and adapt your working methods based on the student's needs. You treat guardians and relatives in a good and trustworthy manner.
