Lilla Gårdstensskolan is a primary school with approximately 300 students in grades F-3, as well as our adapted primary school with 24 students in grades 1-3. We have two classes with students studying both subjects and subject areas. The core staffing consists of two teachers in each class plus several education assistants with clear responsibilities. Job Responsibilities
We are now seeking a special education teacher who wants to work together with three additional teachers who collectively support 23 students in grades 1-3 studying both subject-based and subject-area focused instruction. Together with your colleagues, you will be ultimately responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction at both group and individual levels based on student needs and circumstances. In your role as a special education teacher with us, you are not just a trusted and skilled educator, you are also a leader of your team, where everyone has an important role in student learning. Your duties also include coaching colleagues and professional development responsibilities toward our sister school called Gårdstensskolan 4-9 adapted primary school.
Lilla Gårdstensskolan's adapted primary school is an organization where development work takes center stage. The school is committed to working systematically to develop students' independence and communication. You will be a major part of this systematic work at the school. The work is characterized by low-affect interactions, clarifying pedagogy, and alternative and augmentative communication.
The school is located on Saffransgatan near the natural areas of Vättlefjäll and Lärjeån as well as Angereds Centrum. It is easy to get here by bus and tram. Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a licensed special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities (ID) or is expected to graduate as a special education teacher with an ID focus within 6 months. Experience in educational work in adapted primary school is a merit.
