Special Teacher in Swedish/Swedish as Second Language, Grades 7-9 at Söderkullaskolan

Ref: 20261806 Job Responsibilities We are now seeking a special teacher with a focus on Swedish and Swedish as a second language (Swedish/SSL) who wants to make a difference for our students in grades 7-9. As a special teacher with us, your main task is to teach in our flex group, where students receive support in Swedish/SSL over a limited time period (with some possibility for extension). Your duties also include working with the learning environment and supporting teachers regarding students in need of support. You participate in subject team meetings where you collaborate with Swedish/SSL teachers, contribute a special education perspective, and mentor teachers regarding students in need of support. Together you share joint responsibility for students and instruction by identifying and removing obstacles in the learning environment. You analyze results from screening and assessments and plan the necessary support measures and adaptations for students in need of support based on this analysis. You will also work closely with the special educator and, together with the assistant principal, follow up on the outcomes of instruction and interventions at the individual and group level as part of systematic quality work. You work systematically to plan, implement, and regularly evaluate your interventions. You stay updated with the latest research in your field. Furthermore, you actively participate in the school's ongoing development work. Qualifications You have a special education degree with a focus on Swedish/SSL and are a licensed elementary teacher for students in grades 7-9. You have very strong knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written forms. It is an advantage if you have previous experience working as a special teacher at the secondary level. You have good insight into and knowledge of the school's governing documents and apply them in your daily work. You also have good didactic and pedagogical skills and strong knowledge of relevant digital tools. You should be able to work both with teaching teachers in the classroom and with smaller groups and individual students. Your approach is inclusive. You have good knowledge of and a genuine interest in language learning. You need to have many different methods in your toolkit to be able to support both teachers and students in the best way. Your teaching is modern and creative and aims to reach and find strategies to strengthen students' knowledge. You have a flexible and unpretentious approach, are easy to collaborate with, and demonstrate clear pedagogical leadership.
