We are a stable school with good results but are at a stage where we want to take the next step in designing and organizing our special education services. Backluraskolan is a grades K-6 school with approximately 450 students and about 60 staff members. The school is located in a beautiful natural area in Hässelby norra residential neighborhood. Backluraskolan, K–6 - Stockholm City (grundskola.stockholm) Your role We're looking for you to work both directly with students, collaborating with teachers in the classroom, and in a coaching and administrative capacity with documentation. It is important that you are an active member of the student support team. Example responsibilities • Conduct pedagogical assessments and screenings, and plan interventions and support teachers in planning instruction based on them. • Provide instruction for students in need of special support. • Participate in and collaborate with teachers in their instruction. • Coach and support educators and work teams. • Contribute to the development of the school's inclusive learning environments. • Collaborate with the student support team, guardians, and external partners. • Design and follow up on support measures. • Collaborate with teaching staff regarding accommodations and instructional strategies. • Contribute to the school's development of inclusive instruction. Your competence and experience We're looking for you who have: • Teacher's degree with teacher certification. • Special education or special teaching degree • Documented experience working in primary school • Good knowledge of school law, curriculum, and governing documents. • Experience assessing, analyzing, and following up on students' support needs. • Experience with assessment and screening tools as a basis for planning interventions • Ability to plan, implement, and follow up on targeted support measures. • Good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish. • Good digital competence We will place great emphasis on personal suitability and are looking for you who have a strong student perspective with a good ability to build trust and engagement with both students and colleagues. It is a merit if you have: • Experience leading school development processes. • Experience coaching teachers and work teams. • Knowledge in neuropsychological assessment, language disorders, literacy development, or mathematics difficulties. • Experience working with accessible learning environments. • Knowledge of digital learning tools and compensatory aids.
