Your Assignment As a Special Education Teacher, you will work with students in grades F-3 who need special support in mathematics, language, writing, and reading development. You will be part of the school's student welfare team and a special education team consisting of three special education teachers and one special education specialist. Together with teachers, students, and guardians, you will create the best conditions for student learning through support measures, adaptations, and strong relationships. Another special education teacher works with grades F-3 at the school. You will be grade-level coordinators and each responsible for two grade levels, where you support and serve as a sounding board in special education work. You will also have special responsibility for supporting one student and maintaining ongoing contact with that student's guardians. As a Special Education Teacher, you will actively engage in teaching and support students through individualized interventions in the classroom, in small groups, and one-on-one. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction based on the curriculum and school law. With confidence and commitment, you will guide and support colleagues and work teams, and contribute special education expertise regarding adaptations, teaching strategies, and learning environments. You stay current with special education research and share your theoretical knowledge and pedagogical expertise. You observe, document, follow up, write action plans, apply for additional funding, and create intervention programs and pedagogical assessments of students' special education needs. You also conduct and analyze screenings and other assessments. Work occurs in close collaboration with the special education team, teachers, school leadership, and the student welfare team. Together, you work across professions on intervention, promotion, and prevention efforts based on student needs. You lead meetings with students and guardians to inform about and discuss chosen measures, and you collaborate regarding student needs with other actors, both within and outside the school. Your Experience For this position, you must have: teacher certification with the right to teach grades F-3 a special education teacher degree experience working as a teacher where you actively supported students needing special education and extra adaptations good digital literacy and experience using digital educational tools strong ability to communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing It is advantageous if you also have: experience working as a special education teacher knowledge of and experience assessing needs and documenting support measures, such as pedagogical assessments and intervention programs experience mentoring teachers subject certification in Swedish as a Second Language Is This You?
