Description Do you want to make a difference in children and young people's school experience and well-being? We are now seeking a special education teacher at 60% to join our dedicated team at Bergsgårdsskolan! This is a fixed-term position until June 20, 2027, with placement in primary school. Bergsgårdsskolan is a primary school with grades F–6 (2-parallel classes) as well as an adapted primary school for grades 1–6. We have approximately 330 students in primary school and around 70 students in the adapted primary school, distributed across 13 classes. The school also operates three after-school care centers. The school is located in Hjällbo with immediate proximity to natural areas and just a five-minute walk from the Hjällbo tram station. We have an experienced and well-functioning student support team consisting of a school nurse, counselor, special education specialist, and psychologist who are always available as close support for all our students and staff. Job Responsibilities We are seeking an engaged special education teacher with a focus on Swedish or mathematics for Bergsgårdsskolan's primary school grades 4–6. It is advantageous if you have experience working with students in need of special support through individual instruction, smaller teaching groups, or targeted support measures in Swedish and/or mathematics. In your role as a special education teacher with us, you will work partly with direct instruction of individual students and smaller teaching groups, and partly with supporting classroom teachers to develop instruction in the classroom. Together with our student support team, special education specialist, and other colleagues, you will have a strong focus on students in need of extra adaptations, shorter intensive interventions, and special support. Your main responsibilities include: Assisting with assessments of students' goal achievement and conducting educational evaluations. Formulating and following up on intervention programs in close collaboration with teaching staff. Creating good learning environments that support all students' development toward educational goals in grades 4–6. Identifying opportunities and reducing barriers in the school's learning environment at the organizational, group, and individual levels. Qualifications We are primarily seeking someone with a special education teacher degree with a focus on Swedish or mathematics, but we also welcome applications from those with other special education specializations. To succeed in this role, you need: Experience working with primary school students at the intermediate level (grades 4–6). Good understanding of how to adapt instruction to meet the varying needs and circumstances of primary school students. For this role, we are seeking someone with strong collaboration skills who enjoys working closely with classroom teachers and the student support team to achieve the school's shared goals. We see that you promote a respectful work environment and have a natural ability to build strong, trusting relationships with both colleagues and students and guardians. You do this by being open, accommodating, and responsive to those around you. Through a conscious and professional approach, you create security and trust in the school environment. You have the ability to act as a qualified discussion partner on special education issues for colleagues and parents. As a person, you are resourceful, flexible, and motivated by finding successful educational paths forward. Welcome with your application!
