Job Responsibilities
As a specialist nurse at Lotsgården, you will work with both regular care work on the ward and tasks connected to your specialist competence. The section manager leads and distributes the work and can, if needed, give you other assignments beyond your specialist area.
In the role, you mentor and support colleagues, both individually and in groups, and serve as an available resource in daily work. You observe and map the residents' needs and contribute to planning and designing evidence-based care interventions with a person-centered approach and a holistic perspective throughout the day. You are also a support to colleagues in matters concerning the family perspective.
You support the section manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining working methods that strengthen the operation's quality. Through environmental monitoring, you stay updated within your specialist area and contribute to spreading new knowledge in the operation. When needed, you also participate in networks and collaboration forums together with other specialist nurses, licensed personnel, and other relevant functions. As part of the assignment, you also support the section manager in work with quality registers and other quality improvement initiatives.
The schedule includes day shifts, evening shifts, and every other weekend.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position:
Diploma from post-secondary education comprising at least 200 YH credits or at least 60 higher education credits. The education must have a dementia focus.
Nurse assistant training with proof of protected professional title.
At least 5 years of work experience in healthcare, medical care, or social services.
Documented knowledge, skills, and experience in one or more specialist areas within healthcare, medical care, or social services.
Comfortable using the computer as a work tool and aid, and having the willingness and ability to quickly learn new programs and systems.
Very good Swedish in speech and writing.
Meritorious for the position:
Mentor training (minimum VO-college level 2 or equivalent).
Specific work experience from the specialist area.
Previous experience working in a star-certified operation.
System familiarity with current tools—for example, LifeCare, Procapita, Flexite, Senior Alert, and BPSD.
As a person, you are self-directed and take responsibility for planning, structuring, and driving your work forward. You have the ability to take initiative and contribute to developing working methods within the operation.
Based on your specialist knowledge, you have a good understanding of the professional aspects within the area and continuously keep your knowledge current. By sharing your competence, you contribute to learning and development among colleagues and become an important knowledge resource in the operation.
You have good pedagogical ability and adapt your way of communicating and conveying information based on different people's needs and circumstances. You value differences and have an understanding of how people's different backgrounds, experiences, and group affiliations can affect both yourself and others.
