The Department of Internal Medicine is a specialist clinic in internal medicine. Here, lung diseases, diabetes, endocrine diseases, kidney diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, stroke, and blood diseases are diagnosed and treated. We also provide specialist palliative care and advanced home care around the clock for patients with cancer and other chronic conditions requiring extensive medical interventions. Involved patients, respect for individual integrity, and high patient safety are important elements of our operations. The clinic has two inpatient wards, several specialist clinics, and a dialysis unit. Our Offering Medicine Ward 3 is one of two inpatient wards within Vrinnevis Hospital's Department of Internal Medicine. The ward specializes in pulmonary and renal medicine, hematology, and specialist palliative care. On Ward 3, we care for acutely ill patients, those with long-term and incurable conditions, and patients in end-of-life care. At the medical clinics, we diagnose and treat patients with various medical conditions. Patients at the lung section are evaluated for cancer, asthma, sarcoidosis, and interstitial lung diseases. At the allergy section, patients with severe allergic conditions receive treatment including allergy vaccines and biological medications. At the hematology clinic, we work with conditions such as myeloma, lymphoma, chronic leukemias, and various types of anemia. Hematology patients come for chemotherapy treatment, blood transfusions, and testing. Job Description We are seeking a specialist nurse in internal medicine who will have their primary employment on Ward 3 but will also rotate to a clinic within the department. Your most important work is to collaborate with colleagues to promote health and alleviate suffering for our patients. You work in a team with nursing assistants, physicians, and paramedics to deliver person-centered and value-creating care. We are looking for someone who can take responsibility for educating and mentoring colleagues as well as working clinically on Medicine Ward 3. You want to help shape and develop an educational program for our nurses. You are a person who is open to new thinking and can work independently toward set goals. Your position includes clinic work at either the pulmonary and allergy clinic or the hematology clinic. There you should be able to take responsibility for your own patients with a focus on lung or blood diseases. Work at the clinic includes patient follow-ups, monitoring, and medication management. About You We are looking for someone who is a licensed registered nurse and has completed specialist education in internal medicine (15 higher education credits). You should have solid knowledge of the patient groups, diseases, and treatments available in the medicine ward and the medical clinics. We see that you are engaged and want to be part of an operation that is constantly developing. You work well with other people and relate to them in a responsive and flexible manner. As a person, you are resourceful and communicative and you contribute to a good work environment. Since the work involves documentation and contact with colleagues, patients, and relatives, it is important that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language.
