About the position You will work at the pediatric diabetes and endocrinology clinic within the highly specialized pediatric care flow at Theme Children, Astrid Lindgren Children's Hospital in Huddinge. As a specialist nurse at the clinic, you will have an independent role with various areas of responsibility. One of your tasks is to conduct individual patient visits, where you work together with the patient to set goals and plan the visit to support their self-care. You will also hold educational sessions for both children/adolescents and their parents, as well as preschool and school staff, from disease onset and onwards. Another part of your role is to collaborate with representatives from insulin pump companies to initiate insulin pump therapy. You will be responsible for prescribing, planning, and participating in these initiations. Insulin pumps are started regularly throughout the year, which gives you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge about the different pumps. Additionally, telephone and Alltid Öppet (Always Open) counseling are part of your area of responsibility. Some on-call weekend service within inpatient care may occur in this position.
