Specialist Physician for New Unit BUP Neuropsychiatry - Shape the Future of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Are you a specialist physician who wants to be part of creating a modern and sustainable child and adolescent psychiatric service with a special focus on neuropsychiatric disabilities? BUP Neuropsychiatry is now seeking two specialist physicians for our new unit, BUP Neuropsychiatry Southwest 2, which will begin operations in August 2026. We are looking for you if you want to work clinically and be involved in building a new unit with high ambitions. Our service is based on a clear and long-term vision: all children and young people should be offered equitable, accessible, and evidence-based care – at the right time and at the right level of care. Work is conducted on an evidence-based and process-oriented basis, with strong emphasis on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement. During the start-up phase, the unit will be located at Globen at a clinic within BUP Stockholm and will move in August 2027 to newly renovated facilities in Solberga (Älvsjö). The clinic's mission is to conduct neuropsychiatric assessments of children and young people aged 0–17 years and to be responsible for pharmacological treatment of confirmed ADHD. BUP Neuropsychiatry consists of BUP En väg in and six neuropsychiatric clinics. Job Description As a specialist physician, your main duties are to conduct neuropsychiatric assessments of children and young people according to national guidelines and BUP Stockholm's process maps, working together with a psychologist. After the assessment is completed, you are responsible for medical treatment of ADHD. You will see patients for initiation, follow-up, and evaluation of medication treatment in collaboration with nursing staff. You provide support to colleagues at treatment conferences and in assessment of cases based on your profession as a physician. There is an opportunity for remote work with digital patient work to the extent that the service allows. Qualifications Applicants should be a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry or alternatively a specialist in adult psychiatry. Experience working with children and young people with neuropsychiatric issues is a merit, as is familiarity with work according to modern, evidence-based methods. Experience from child psychiatric outpatient care or pediatric clinics is also a merit.
