BUP Stockholm Neuropsychiatry Section consists of BUP One Way In, as well as six neuropsychiatric clinics so far: Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest, and West 1 and 2. In August we are also starting Southwest 2.
Our mission is urgent and shared: to assess and treat children and young people with neuropsychiatric difficulties. With us, physicians, psychologists, nurses, medical secretaries, and managers collaborate to provide our patients with accessible, effective, and patient-focused care. The work climate at BUP Neuropsychiatry is characterized by a developmental focus, high expertise, and quality.
The units work with medical treatment, assessments, and evaluations where the focus is on neuropsychiatric difficulties.
Responsibilities
As a specialist physician, your main tasks are to conduct neuropsychiatric assessments of children and young people together with a psychologist according to national guidelines and BUP's process maps, initiate medical treatment upon completion of the assessment, and monitor treatment effects in collaboration with nursing staff. You provide support to colleagues during treatment conferences and case evaluations based on your professional expertise as a physician.
You, like all staff members, are an important part of the team and have the opportunity to contribute to continuous development by participating in the unit's ongoing development work. The section currently has approximately 20 other specialist psychiatrists. At Southwest, you will have 5 other physician colleagues to develop the work with. We are currently working on a specific project for improved follow-up in medication treatment.
Qualifications
You should be a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry or adult psychiatry with clinical work experience in the field. You are familiar with working according to current research and evidence-based methods.

BUP Neuropsychiatry is part of BUP Stockholm. BUP Stockholm provides specialized psychiatric care for children and young people aged 0 to 17 in Stockholm County. We are part of Stockholm County Health Care Area, which is a healthcare provider within Region Stockholm. Together, BUP employs approximately 1,000 staff members who meet over 22,000 children, young people, and their families each year.

- criminal background checks are conducted before employment decisions according to Stockholm County Health Care Area's comprehensive instructions for background checks in employment.
- employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employee health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
- in addition to Swedish professional credentials, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. The same requirement is advisory for non-credentialed staff with patient contact.
