Your Day-to-Day as an SOS Operator at 112
As an SOS operator at SOS Alarm, you become an important link in helping people in acute situations. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, can handle stress, and have a strong sense of structure and responsibility, you might be who we're looking for!
"One of the best things about this job is that no two days are the same." You will meet all kinds of people, questions, and problems. Your main task is to answer incoming calls from people in distress. As an SOS operator, you answer the emergency number 112 and are the first contact for those seeking help before other emergency resources arrive.
112 calls encompass everything from acute medical emergencies, traffic accidents, and fires to calls where someone needs a reassuring voice. With interview support and adapted technology, you ensure that the right resources are sent to the right place at the right time. During ongoing calls, you collaborate with colleagues and external resources such as police, fire services, and ambulances. The work is often conducted at a high pace with the person seeking help always in focus. Work is conducted at the SOS center where you sit in an open environment with your colleagues.
Training
To have the right conditions to succeed as an SOS operator, your employment begins with comprehensive training at our training unit in Kista alternated with practical training at the center where you have a mentor. You therefore need to be able to be away from home during individual weeks when training is conducted in person in Kista. We cover all costs associated with travel to our training unit.
We're Looking for You
We assume that you always want to help the person calling and handle the call from start to finish. You appreciate clear guidelines, are confident in yourself, and decisive – regardless of which call you handle. The role involves collaboration with colleagues and external parties, which requires good teamwork abilities. You are a friendly and attentive person who easily relates to people.
Since SOS Alarm's operations run 24/7, as an SOS operator you work around-the-clock shifts, meaning you work days/evenings/nights and weekends.
We Wish That You
Have at least three years of work experience
Have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
Have good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
Have good computer skills and are comfortable working in different and complex systems
Have good multitasking abilities as the work requires you to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
It Is Advantageous If You
Have experience working irregular hours
Have experience from healthcare, emergency services, alarm centers, or similar
Are a nursing assistant or have other relevant experience
We Offer You
As an employee at SOS Alarm, we see your well-being as a focus area and we know that a balance between work and private life is crucial for a sustainable and meaningful working life. Therefore, as an employee you have the following employment terms and benefits:
Wellness allowance of 5,000 SEK
SOS Health – a health initiative where you have the opportunity to participate in joint activities and races together with your colleagues. The aim is to strengthen our health and sense of community.
Reduced working hours
Collective agreement and occupational pension according to ITP
SOS Campus – a learning library for continuous learning and professional development
With us, you become part of a culture where values are more than just words – they define how we act every day. We take responsibility, we are professional, we show care, and we collaborate.
