Your Assignment In the role of Software Engineer, you will develop and maintain solutions that handle large amounts of data and extract and refine the relevant parts for subsequent systems used in the organization's intelligence production and cybersecurity work. The world is changing, and so are the data we need in our work to protect our democracy. Therefore, continuous development takes place as new requirements emerge. You will be part of a team with overall responsibility for its systems. The team works agile with development and operations, with significant responsibility and mandate in daily work in collaboration with strategic management based on the organization's needs and priorities. The team has close collaboration with other parts of intelligence information production, both with end users (analysts) and other technical teams. In the team, you will be responsible for building entirely new production environments and capabilities, as well as maintaining and automating existing products. The systems are a mix of open source, custom-developed, and external products. You will participate in design, architectural choices, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning/migration of these products – that is, the entire lifecycle. The team is part of a unit with two teams that focus mainly on system development/capability development and system integration toward platforms/networks, respectively, for systems that handle large amounts of data for intelligence production and cybersecurity work. The Software Engineer role can be placed in either of the two teams, depending on knowledge, experience, and interest. We always strive for our employees to thrive and develop. You Can We are looking for someone who has: - University education in computer science, systems science, or similar field, or equivalent competence acquired through work experience - Good knowledge of working in Linux environments - Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written For us, it is important that you are curious, humble, and have a drive to learn new things. It is also meritorious for the position if you have experience from one or more of the following areas that you may encounter to varying degrees: - Programming for system automation in Linux environments (e.g., Bash/shellscript, Python, Go) - Hardware-level programming on Linux servers (primarily C++, but also Rust) - DPDK/XDP - Kubernetes (e.g., RKE2) - Container technology (e.g., Docker, Podman) - Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Ansible, Puppet) - GitOps and automated work against repositories (e.g., ArgoCD) - Networking (e.g., DNS, routing, firewalls, IP protocols, Snort/Suricata) - Monitoring and metrics (e.g., Grafana/Prometheus, Kibana/Elasticsearch, Nagios/Checkmk) - Physical server hardware - Large data flows (e.g., various message buses or Apache NiFi) You Are We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities, and we are looking for someone who recognizes themselves in the following characteristics: - Collaboration ability – You work well with other people.
