We are now seeking both a general legal research officer and a legal research officer specializing in bankruptcy matters. Job Responsibilities Your role as a legal research officer is substantially different from that of a notary. It is a role for someone who wants to combine legal analysis with guidance, coordination, and educational work in an important part of the justice system. As a legal research officer, you play a key role in the work of the judicial divisions and in the development of our notaries, where you are responsible for, among other things, internal training initiatives. You will work alongside and provide support to the judges, notaries, and court administrators of the judicial divisions, and contribute to developing routines and working methods. As a legal research officer, you ensure quality and continuity in the research procedures of the judicial divisions. You serve as a sounding board for notaries and administrators in ongoing research work, and you participate with your expertise in one of the many working groups at the court, such as the working group for criminal matters, youth matters, family matters, or dispositive civil disputes. As a legal research officer specializing in bankruptcy, you will work extensively with the court's handling of bankruptcy cases, an area that has undergone significant changes in summer 2026. You will independently prepare and decide cases in accordance with your authority. The work also involves external contact with parties, attorneys and other representatives, authorities, and the public. Even though the main focus of your position will be bankruptcy matters, work tasks may vary based on operational needs. In the role of general legal research officer, you will also perform qualified legal work where you independently, among other things, prepare cases, conduct legal investigations, draft proposed decisions, decide cases based on documents, and lead your own conferences and hearings. You may also be involved in handling high-profile cases and take an active role in the court's media work. Qualifications You must have very strong legal skills. Upon taking up the position as legal research officer, you must have completed and passed a notary apprenticeship at a district court with good judgment. As a person, you are driven, service-oriented, independent, thorough, and well-organized. You readily grasp legal matters and have an open, solution-focused approach. Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish is a requirement. You also have very strong ability to collaborate and communicate both in writing and verbally with the public, colleagues, and external stakeholders. If you have experience working with bankruptcy matters, this is a merit for the bankruptcy-focused role. Great weight will be placed on your personal qualities.
