What We Offer
Cultureskolan has existed as a music school since 1949, making it one of the country's oldest music schools. Just over 250 students receive instruction on various instruments, dance, drama, film, and in creative workshops. In 2008, we transitioned from Music School to Culture School when we began offering drama and visual arts. Since then, we have expanded our activities with dance and film.
Our teaching team consists of 13 dedicated educators whose focus is on awakening joy and curiosity around creative expression. Here there is a good and supportive atmosphere where laughter comes easily.
Job Description
We are now seeking a violin teacher at 75% for Kulturskolan. As a violin teacher, you will be part of Kulturskolan's teaching team, which consists of both subject teachers and music teachers. Within the subject team, we co-plan our projects and share experiences. Since we are a smaller unit, you will be the primary instructor for string students. You also work with smaller ensembles and together with the other subject teachers, you will participate in Kulturskolan's orchestra activities.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with adequate training as a string teacher or equivalent. You also have teaching experience and work pedagogically based on students' abilities. You work in a structured manner, where working with people requires both flexibility and attentiveness. You feel equally comfortable leading children as you do performing on stage yourself. In our activities, we work extensively together on various projects, which means we have high expectations for collaboration skills. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and see that you as a candidate demonstrate clear leadership.
A valid driver's license (category B) is required for this position, as we teach in our outlying areas among other things.
