The Individual and Family Operations unit works every day to improve the daily lives of Örnsköldsvik residents. We are responsible for the social services authority's duties for children and adults in need of support and protection. We are seeking a Social Worker for the dependency group at the Adult and Unaccompanied Young People unit (EVE), a temporary position from September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2027 on a full-time basis. We welcome your application!
Job Responsibilities
The duties include investigating clients' support needs and supporting and motivating them toward change. The work involves making decisions about interventions with a motivating and supportive approach, and following up on these. Collaboration occurs with, among others, open care, the Police, the Probation Service, the Public Employment Service, and the Region.
We strive to support and motivate our clients toward change to the greatest extent possible, as we see participation as an important prerequisite for sustainable change work. When deemed necessary, the investigation is conducted with the support of LVM (Act on Care of Substance Abusers in Certain Cases) with the aim of breaking life-threatening substance abuse and motivating the client toward voluntary treatment.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is trained as a social worker with an approved degree. It is important that you have a genuine interest in the target group, strong belief that all people can change, and patience, as the path to change is rarely easy.
Meritorious:
- Experience with authority duties and case management within social services
- Training in/experience with Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- Training in/experience with the Addiction Severity Index (ASI) assessment tool (Harmful Use and Dependence)
Beyond formal competencies, we will place great weight on personal suitability.
A driver's license with category B authorization is a requirement.
