JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a social secretary for children and youth, you work with investigations and follow-ups according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and LVU. You are responsible for investigating children's need for protection and support as well as following up on decided interventions.
The work involves close contact with children, youth, and their families as well as collaboration with other important actors such as schools, preschools, healthcare, and police.
You will be part of an engaged team where we work together to ensure legally sound assessments and high-quality support measures.

Degerfors Municipality works according to the Bacca Barnet collaboration model, where social services, schools, police, and other actors collaborate to strengthen work with children and youth.
Through this approach, we create better opportunities to detect needs early and implement the right support at the right time. At the same time, we develop social services in line with the new Social Services Act, where the focus is on accessibility, preventive work, and early interventions.
In this role, you will, among other things:
• Conduct child welfare investigations according to SoL and LVU
• Assess children's need for protection and support
• Make decisions or prepare cases for decision
• Follow up on decided interventions
• Collaborate with schools, police, healthcare, and other authorities
• Document and ensure legally sound case handling
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has:
• A degree in social work (Socionom)
• Experience in authority work with children and youth or a strong interest in the field
• Good ability to make structured assessments
• Confidence in meeting children, youth, and families
• Good collaboration skills and enjoys teamwork
Salary form: Monthly salary.
Employment form: Permanent employment.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-09-14.
Working hours: Daytime.
