The Children and Family Unit consists of two parts: an authority section and an implementation section. In the Children and Family authority, our case handlers work with intake, investigations, and follow-up of open services, as well as handlers for monitoring placements, totaling 11 employees. We also have two foster care coordinators here. The Children and Family implementation section includes our open care services and family center with a total of 10 employees. The unit also shares a social administration coordinator who provides administrative support to the operations. The groups each have their own unit manager who are both social workers with case handling experience.
Our unit has broad, substantial expertise and all roles in the operation are important. We are good at helping each other and collaborating across boundaries. The entire individual and family care in Töreboda municipality operates according to the Signs of Safety approach. Signs of Safety is a safety-oriented, collaboration-driven, and strength-based working method. We are primarily seeking a case handler for investigations and open services. However, if you or we feel that case handling for placed children and young people is more interesting or suits you better, there may be an opportunity to work with these tasks instead. The work requires that you have good knowledge of the Social Services Act, LVU, the Parental Code, and social services operations. You are responsible in your work and have a good ability to work both independently and in collaboration with others. You must be flexible and able to handle urgent situations. You have good ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing and have good analytical skills. As a person, you are attentive, positive, and solution-oriented. Good conduct and empathy for people in difficult situations are self-evident to you. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Driver's license category B is a requirement.
Job Responsibilities
You are responsible for pre-assessment work and, following an application or report, investigating and assessing children's and families' need for support and protection, as well as proposing appropriate interventions. For the open services that are approved, you are responsible for monitoring the change process in the family and ensuring that the right support is provided so that treatment work goals are met. The work involves authority operations and case handling according to the Social Services Act and LVU.
Qualifications
The work requires a degree in social work and preferably previous experience working with child/youth case handling or similar. Previous work involving authority operations and experience working according to Signs of Safety are merits. Experience with treatment work with children and families is also highly valued.
With us, we practice freedom under responsibility and we offer flexible working hours as well as the opportunity to work from home up to two days per week. We follow the National Board of Health and Welfare's introduction program for new case handlers and each work group has regular supervision. We apply regular workload measurement to ensure reasonable workload over time. The unit has high management presence with close supervision from both managers.
As a social worker within IFO Children and Family, you can expect a salary between 33,000 - 50,000 kr depending on experience and qualifications; individual salary setting is applied.
