Welcome to Us The Financial Assistance Unit serves adult individuals, 18 years and older, who live in the Skärholmen district area and cannot meet their basic economic needs through their own income. The mission is to unlock and develop people's own resources to become self-sufficient and achieve an independent life with equality in living conditions and active participation in community life. During the fall, the Unit will be divided into a reception unit and an investigation unit, and we are now seeking two social secretaries for the investigation unit. The investigation unit is divided into two teams, each led by a team leader. The administrative office with citizen services is located at Skärholmen center with proximity to the subway and a shopping center with a wide range of restaurants, cafés, and shops. Your Role As a social secretary with us, you will support applicants in becoming self-sufficient through advice, support, and guidance, while investigating and deciding on the right to financial assistance. You develop individual plans in cooperation with the individual and other actors, and investigate the economic situation in parallel with investigating the individual's overall life situation. Investigation, assessment, and decision are based on city-wide assessment tools: Initial Assessment (IB) and Prerequisites for Work (FIA). The assessment tools are an instrument for making the individual participate in the change plan and in the implementation of measures. We consistently work with the MI (motivational interviewing) conversation method and have an MI-oriented approach in motivational work with clients. Your Competence and Experience We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. It is meritorious if you have previous experience working with financial assistance. You should have knowledge of applicable legislation and good communication skills in both speech and writing in Swedish. You are confident in your role, have a coaching approach with a strong focus on creating good cooperation and a good working environment. You are attentive and can contain concerns and provide support even in complex situations. In the role as social secretary, you are required to be organized, have good judgment, have endurance in the work, and be motivated in supporting applicants to become self-sufficient. Furthermore, you have good problem-solving skills and are expected to participate actively in development work in the unit to achieve operational goals.
