Do you want to work in a city where ideas quickly become reality and where you see the results of your work? In Sundbyberg, people, decisions, and opportunities are close together. Here you get to make a real impact while developing and growing in your role. You dare to try new things and learn from experiences. Just like we do. In our welfare and care sector, our goal is to be a collaborative organization that works professionally and takes its starting point in the service users' own reality. Our values are permeated by a user perspective and a child perspective. The Children's Unit is a unit within the authority department. The unit has dedicated and skilled employees who support each other in daily work, with several having worked in the unit for many years. The unit is divided into two teams with nine social secretaries in each team, some of whom are senior social secretaries. Each team has good support from its team leader who directs and distributes the work. There is also good collegial support. The target group is children 0-12 years old and their families/networks. We work with investigations and follow-ups of interventions in accordance with the Social Services Act (SoL), the Act with Special Provisions on the Care of Young People (LVU), and the Act on the Placement of Children in Protected Housing (LBSB). Our focus is to conduct good social work. For us in the Children's Unit, this means creating investigation processes that are conducive to families' change work. When interventions are needed, support and treatment are offered at home as much as possible, and we emphasize network work. We are now looking for you who want to take on the challenge of working as a social secretary with children and their families and participating in our development work. Your tasks include investigating, documenting, assessing, making decisions, and following up interventions in accordance with applicable legislation. The work involves conversations and collaboration with children, their families, and external actors such as healthcare, schools, and police. You also work in close collaboration with colleagues within the sector. Current legislation and regulations in the field guide your work. You will also participate in the department's quality and development work. We want you to be trained as a social worker and have experience exercising authority in the child and/or youth field. We want you to have training and experience working according to BBiC. You are responsible and have good collaboration skills. You need to be attentive, and in stressful situations it is important that you have the ability to maintain a professional approach and demeanor. You are structured and like to seek information to find answers to various questions. It is also important that you have an interest in learning more and developing within the field. Since documentation is an important part of the work, you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language and good administrative skills. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and personal maturity. We offer you a creative workplace with opportunities for professional development. Your introduction program is followed up by the department's development manager and includes relevant further training for your assignment. In addition to support from the unit's team leader, you receive support in daily work from the unit's senior social secretaries. You also receive external supervision. Sundbyberg Municipality cares about a good work environment and offers wellness benefits and the opportunity to exchange holiday pay supplements for extra days off. We are located in modern facilities at Sundbyberg City Hall in Hallonbergen. There is the possibility of working from home depending on the current work situation. The position is a permanent full-time employment. Start date by agreement. Probation may be applied. Apply by August 23, 2026. The selection process is ongoing throughout the application period. We do not accept applications via email. A large part of our operations is classified as socially critical activities. The position means that you may be included in Sundbyberg Municipality's emergency organization. Before employment, the employer will ask you to provide a printout from the police's suspicion and liability register. Welcome with your application! We decline applications from those selling advertisements and recruitment services. About Sundbyberg Municipality Sundbyberg is a vibrant and growing city in the Stockholm region.
