In Gällivare Municipality we have a unit with all authority administration within the areas of social services. Work Tasks As a social secretary in children and youth you work primarily with the Social Services Act and the Care of Young Persons (Special Provisions) Act. You work with families based on incoming reports or applications from guardians or young people. The work tasks include monitoring children and young people in open interventions that the open care service carries out but also monitoring of placements in foster homes and treatment homes. We strive to provide families with support at an early stage and to the extent possible we work with home-based solutions. The work includes collaboration with other colleagues within our activity as well as internal and external collaboration. You will be offered participation in the Professional Journey which is a national skills supply program for social services. Qualifications We are looking for you with a social work degree. As a social worker you should have good knowledge of current legislation and have a humanistic view of people. It is meritorious if you have previous work experience, have training in BBIC, MI, Signs of Safety, child interviews or other relevant specialized knowledge. You should be able to work independently but also enjoy collaborating in a group and be able to maintain good relationships. You are service-oriented, solution-focused and have a flexible disposition as the work may involve acute decisions. You need to be secure in yourself and have the ability to set boundaries as well as have a professional approach. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is an administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.
