Job Duties As an investigating social worker for Children and Family (0–18 years), with a focus on environment, you work with investigating the needs of children and their parents for services, both according to SoL and LVU, and you handle cases concerning children who are placed in protected housing with their guardians. Your main task involves conducting investigations as well as performing follow-ups and reassessments of services. The investigative work also includes collaboration with the child's network and conducting motivational work with the family. The work involves qualified investigative and follow-up work, characterized by good treatment, well-founded decisions, and high legal certainty, and offers great variety and change. We value the perspectives and opinions of children and parents, and we work to ensure that children are involved in their investigations and follow-ups. Qualifications You need to have a degree in social work and be genuinely interested in meeting children and parents in difficult life situations. Having high integrity while also being empathetic, being able to see the whole picture, and having a sincere desire to do your utmost to work with your colleagues to contribute to a better life for children and young people are fundamental requirements for the work. Using yourself as a tool in your work means you need to have very good communication skills and be able to express yourself well verbally and in writing. You are a good collaborator and thrive in a work role that involves a lot of collaboration both within your own work group and with other activities and authorities. You have good ability to create and maintain relationships with children, young people, and their families, and are committed to being attentive and listening to the person you meet to create good contact. As a person, you are also responsible and have good organizational skills that allow you to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize your work. At the same time, you need to have a solution-focused approach and find it easy to adapt to changed circumstances. To thrive in the position, we see that you are secure and stable in yourself, and that you have the ability to maintain a realistic perspective and focus on the right things even in stressful situations. We see that you should have at least 3 years of experience in social work. It is advantageous if you have experience with public authority work in the field of Children and Family according to SoL and LVU, and if you have worked with public authority work within other parts of social services. Other experience in social work concerning children and young people is also seen as an advantage. The position requires a category B driving license, and knowledge of languages other than Swedish and English is advantageous. About the Workplace The Business Area Individual and Family is divided into two departments with different tasks and focus areas: Investigation and Services. Within the Investigation department, there are currently 3 units. At the West Inner City unit, we have 5 sections that work with investigations within Children and Family with a focus on environmental cases (0-18 years). At the West Inner City unit, we are now looking for new dedicated and skilled colleagues for permanent positions and substitute work who want to help us become Sweden's best social services.
