Social Worker for Children and Family Services, South District and Family Law

Job Responsibilities
As an investigating social worker for Children and Family Services (ages 0–18), with a focus on environmental cases, you will investigate children's and their parents' needs for services, both under the Social Services Act and the Care of Young Persons Act, and you will handle cases concerning children placed in protected housing with custodians. Your main task involves conducting investigations as well as carrying out follow-ups and reassessments of services. The investigation work also includes collaboration with the child's network and conducting motivational work with the family.
The work involves qualified investigation and follow-up work, characterized by good treatment, well-grounded decisions, and high legal security, and it offers great variety and change. We value the perspectives and opinions of children and parents, and we work to ensure that children are involved in their investigations and follow-ups.
Qualifications
You need to have a degree in social work and be genuinely interested in meeting children and parents in difficult life situations. Having high integrity while being empathetic, being able to see the bigger picture, and having a sincere willingness to do your utmost to work together with your colleagues to contribute to a better life for children and young people are fundamental requirements for the position. Using yourself as a tool in the work means you need to have very good communication skills and be able to express yourself well both verbally and in writing.
You who apply have good collaboration skills and thrive in a work role that involves extensive collaboration both within your own work group and with other organizations and authorities. You have a good ability to create and maintain relationships with children, young people, and their families, and you are committed to being attentive and listening to the person you meet to create good contact.
As a person, you are also responsible and have a good ability for structure that enables you to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize your work. At the same time, you need to have a solution-focused approach and find it easy to adapt to changing circumstances. To thrive in the position, we see that you are secure and stable in yourself, and that you have the ability to maintain a realistic perspective and focus on the right things even in pressured situations. We see that you should have at least 3 years of experience in social work.
It is advantageous if you have experience in public administration within the Children and Family Services area under the Social Services Act and the Care of Young Persons Act, as well as if you have worked in public administration within other parts of social services. Other experience in social work involving children and young people is also seen as an advantage. The position requires a Class B driver's license, and knowledge of languages other than Swedish and English is advantageous.
About the Workplace
The Individual and Family Services area is divided into two departments with different assignments and focus areas: Investigation and Services.
Within the Investigation department, there are currently 3 units. At the South District and Family Law unit, we have 5 sections that work with investigations within Children and Family Services with a focus on environmental cases (ages 0–18). We at the South District unit are now looking for new engaged and skilled colleagues for permanent positions and temporary assignments who want to help us become Sweden's best social services.
