Job Responsibilities As an investigating social worker for Children and Family (0–18 years), with a focus on environmental matters, you will work on investigating children's and their parents' needs for support, both according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU). Your main tasks involve conducting investigations and performing follow-ups and reviews of support measures. The investigation work also includes cooperation with the child's network and motivational work with the family. The work involves qualified investigation and follow-up tasks, characterized by good treatment, well-founded decisions, and high legal certainty. We value the perspectives and opinions of children and parents, and we work to ensure that children are involved in their investigations and follow-ups. Qualifications You hold a degree in social work (socionomexamen) and are genuinely interested in meeting children and parents in difficult life situations. Having high integrity while also being empathetic, being able to see the bigger picture, and having a sincere desire to do your best to work with your colleagues toward a better life for children and youth are fundamental requirements for this position. Using yourself as a tool in the work means you need to have excellent communication skills and be able to express yourself well both verbally and in writing. You have good collaboration skills and thrive in a role that involves extensive collaboration both within your own work group and with other organizations and authorities. You have a strong ability to create and maintain relationships with children, youth, and their families, and you are attentive and listen carefully to the people you meet to build good contact. As a person, you are responsible and have good organizational skills that enable you to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize your work. At the same time, you need to have a solution-focused approach and be able to adapt easily to changing circumstances. To thrive in this position, you need to be secure and stable in yourself, and you need the ability to maintain a realistic perspective and focus on the right things even in stressful situations. We prefer that you have at least three years of experience in social work; great emphasis is also placed on personal suitability. Requirements for the position: B-driver's license, as the role involves travel that requires driving. Meritorious for the position: Experience in public authority work within the Children and Family sector according to SoL and LVU. Experience in public authority work within other parts of social services. Experience in other social work with children and youth. Knowledge of languages other than Swedish and English. About the Workplace The Division of Individuals and Families is divided into two departments with different mandates and focus areas: Investigation and Support. Within the Investigation Department, there are currently 4 units. At the North/East unit, we have 4 sections working on investigations within Children and Family with a focus on environmental matters (0-18 years), and each section consists of 12 social workers, 1 senior case officer, 1 lead social worker, and 1 section manager. Having a senior case officer is unique to our unit, and we are very proud that we have chosen to have a social worker who focuses on supporting new colleagues in their introduction and working with experienced colleagues on the most complex cases.
