Essunga Municipality is expanding its workforce and is seeking social workers – focus on SoL and elderly care. Would you like to work as a social worker in an operation where you receive support in your daily work, have accessible and close leadership, and the opportunity to influence how the work develops? Essunga Municipality is now seeking two social workers in total for SoL elderly care and LSS. With us, you are offered good conditions to conduct professional and sustainable social work. You have access to methodological support and support in case management, as well as close leadership where your manager is available in daily work. The operation has both an experienced manager and an experienced senior social worker on site, which provides security, continuity, and support in your role. To create balance between work and private life, there is also the possibility of remote work up to two days per week. Essunga is a smaller municipality with short decision-making processes and close cooperation, which means you clearly see the results of your work and have the opportunity to work closely with both colleagues and those we serve. In Essunga Municipality, we are looking for someone who wants to work close to people's daily lives and contribute to secure and sustainable solutions for elderly people in need of support. Elderly care includes both home care and special housing. The work takes place in a team with the goal of offering coordinated support at the right level based on the individual's needs and wishes. You work closely with nurses, an occupational therapist, and a physiotherapist. About the Role As a social worker within SoL and LSS, you are responsible for investigating, assessing, and making decisions about services according to the Social Services Act and the Act on Support and Services for Persons with Certain Disabilities. The role involves qualified authority administration where you independently handle cases and make well-founded decisions based on applicable legislation, guidelines, and the individual's needs. In this role, you meet people in different life situations and work to create trusting relationships through professional, respectful, and attentive interactions. You conduct investigations, assess support needs, and follow up on granted services to ensure that support is appropriate and meets the individual's current needs. The work also involves providing information, guidance, and support to users, relatives, and other affected parties. You work closely with both internal and external partners, such as service providers, health and medical care, and other authorities, to create coordinated and quality services. The work is multiprofessional and requires good communication skills, a structured working approach, and the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple parallel cases while maintaining quality and legal certainty. Who Are You? We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or other relevant higher education in social work or social care. You have knowledge of and experience with authority administration in the care and welfare field, and a good understanding of legislation regulating the operation, primarily SoL and LSS. You are confident working independently and have the ability to analyze complex situations, make professional assessments, and make well-founded decisions. At the same time, you value cooperation and actively contribute to good collaboration both within and outside your own operation. As a person, you are relationship-building, attentive, and professional in your interactions with people. You communicate clearly and adapt your approach based on the individual's needs and circumstances. You are experienced in social documentation, feel comfortable working in digital management systems, and have good administrative skills. A B-category driving license is required for the position.
