Social Secretary/Case Handler for Modern Economic Assistance Unit

We strive to create a safe, equal and sustainable city where everyone feels seen and included. As a social service, we are an important player in the city's work with social sustainability. You will join a modern, curious and development-oriented administration with approximately 250 employees. We work with a process-oriented approach where we put the user in focus. It is self-evident for us to keep track of the world around us and we are transitioning to working more early and preventively in accordance with the new social services law. We want to be a close social service that is present in the places where Mölndal residents are. In our work to transition to the future's social welfare, we collaborate with both other administrations in the city and external actors. The Economic Assistance Unit is a support in our labor market process and is closely linked to the Planning & Monitoring unit. Based on the fact that work is a health factor for individuals, families and society, we work to increase our focus on work, employment and appropriate support. Fundamental to our work is the understanding that people want and can take responsibility for their own lives. With a strong labor market perspective, we contribute to more Mölndal residents moving into employment and self-sufficiency. The unit consists of eleven social secretaries and case handlers as well as two senior social secretaries and a unit manager. It is divided into a reception (four social secretaries) whose main tasks are scheduling appointments, on-call duty and new visits. Other case handlers work with ongoing reapplications for applicants who have a need for economic assistance exceeding three months. We have joint method meetings. Attached to the unit is also a handler who works with incorrect payments and estate administration. The unit is developing digitalized and automated support provision with the goal that the majority of those applying for economic assistance should do so digitally. It should be easy to apply and easy to process correctly. We strive to work according to a clear child perspective in our case handling. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The unit's common task is to investigate, assess and decide on the right to economic assistance. As a case handler, you have delegation authority and make your own decisions that can have a major impact on the applicant's life. You primarily handle and investigate reapplications for support provision and other economic assistance, all in accordance with the social services law and formulated guidelines decided by the board. An important part of the work is collaboration with other units within the operation and with external actors. You will be part of a work team where there is collegial support and where you are expected to participate in the unit's development work. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has a degree in social work or other relevant post-secondary education that the employer considers appropriate. It is advantageous if you have several years of experience working with economic assistance case handling. If you have previously worked with automated support provision, this is advantageous. You are thorough, engaged, flexible, responsible and drive your work forward toward goals. You are collaborative, unpretentious and concerned with contributing to the operation's best interests. You plan your work in an efficient and structured way. You adapt to changed circumstances and see opportunities in changes and take own initiatives. You are communicative and have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. On our unit we help each other and work together, and therefore it is of great importance that you are collaborative. You understand the common assignment, act based on it and contribute to the whole. On our unit we value that you have good professional interaction with a focus on clients.
