JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking an employee for our family law unit. We offer you stimulating and responsible work alongside an experienced team. The team consists of six employees and a unit manager.
There is much activity in the family law field, which makes the work stimulating and developmental. A new social services act means the entire Social Services Department is undergoing transformation. The focus on preventive work, early interventions, involving and making children participate, and providing easily accessible support are prioritized development areas for the family law unit as well.
Your responsibilities include handling investigations concerning matters of custody, residence, visitation, and adoptions. Paternity and parenthood investigations are part of the work. The family law unit offers collaborative discussions, counseling, and information meetings. The family law unit also has responsibility for implementing visitation support.
We have ongoing development work aimed at creating a child-focused working approach where we can offer parent and child conversations in both group and individual settings based on manual-based methods such as Children in Parents' Focus (BiFF), Hanna and Theo, and the child-focused conversation model Whole Child.
The Social Services Department has a shared goal of providing secure services to children with parents in conflict and/or where one parent perpetrates violence against the other. The family law unit is part of the team-based work under development. In collaboration with authority case handlers within child and family services, family therapists at the Family House, social workers at family centers, and therapists at Alternatives to Violence, we work together to uphold children's rights and help reduce children's vulnerability.
In autumn 2026, work will begin on developing our investigation work with the support of various AI tools, which currently involves improving efficiency by converting speech to text.
The work team receives external supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking someone with a degree in social work and experience in public authority work. It is desirable that you have experience working in family law. You have good knowledge of current legislation, strong communication skills, and can express yourself well in writing. As a person, you are confident and can meet people in crisis and conflict with both care and clarity. You have the competence and experience to lead difficult conversations with both adults and children.
We hope that you want to participate in our development work on methods to highlight children's situations in parental conflicts and feel curious about developing the work with the support of various AI tools.
It is meritorious if you have training in child conversations and parental support programs such as Children in Parents' Focus (BiFF), Hanna and Theo, and Whole Child.
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
For employment as a social secretary, a clear police background check is required.
Driver's License Class B is a requirement.
