You will work alone and in collaboration with others, with a special focus on students' social development, safety, and well-being. You support other staff members in social matters and safety-related work. You have the ability to build good relationships with both students, guardians, and colleagues. You create trust and security among our students and awaken their motivation for learning. You do this through a solution-focused approach and considerable positive reinforcement and praise. You show that you care about them and that you are there for them as a trusted adult who steps up and supports them in both big and small matters. The personal qualities that are essential for success in the role of school social pedagogue are being a responsible and secure person who is passionate about creating a safe school. A certain degree of courage and personal maturity is required to successfully lead conversations about difficult issues with students and their guardians. It is important to act professionally and patiently even in very difficult and stressful situations. Responsibilities You will handle urgent matters in the operations, investigate harassment incidents, supervise students during breaks, initiate break-time activities, provide supportive conversations to students, observe groups or individual students, and work with the student wellness team to process student cases. As a school social pedagogue, you work closely with students, guardians, and staff. You will work to increase student attendance and be part of the school social team together with a school social worker. You will conduct motivational conversations, support the creation of structure for the school day, and investigate problematic school absences. Most of your day will be spent where the students are, both in teaching situations and during breaks, with the goal of creating safety, building trusting relationships, and strengthening students' development and learning. The position includes initiating break-time activities, collaborating with teachers, student wellness services, and school leadership, and when needed, supporting individual student cases and contact with guardians. Qualifications A degree in social pedagogy or equivalent. We would like to see that you have previous experience working with young people in a school environment. You need to have a strong ability to lead conversations about difficult issues with teachers, students, and their guardians. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
