Riga Social Service announces an open competition for a social assistance coordinator (Level 1) position (profession code 3412 03)
Riga Social Service is a subordinate institution of the Welfare Department of Riga City Municipality that provides social assistance, organizes and delivers social services, and ensures assistant services to residents of Riga.
The position's purpose is to assess and ensure the provision of social assistance to meet people's basic needs. Accept and register applications from social assistance applicants, evaluate a person's social and material situation, and prepare means of subsistence declarations.
We will entrust you with:
informing clients about their rights to social assistance and the possibilities and procedures for exercising these rights, as well as their obligations in receiving social assistance;
assessing the social and material situation of individuals (families), preparing means of subsistence declarations, and processing electronically received "means of subsistence declarations";
accepting and registering social assistance applicant applications in the municipal social assistance information system SOPA;
recording and maintaining computerized records of allocated and received assistance;
providing accurate and client-friendly answers to their questions, among other duties;
preparing drafts of administrative acts and informational letters in accordance with legal requirements.
We expect:
Level 1 higher professional education or Level 2 higher professional or academic education, or students pursuing education in social assistance, social work, or charitable social work programs, as well as at least short-cycle higher education;
State language proficiency at C1 level (highest level);
ability to navigate legal acts;
excellent computer and office equipment skills;
communication skills and the ability to interact with people;
the ability to make independent decisions within your competence.

monthly salary - 1280.00 EUR (before tax deduction);
work location - Northern District Department Social Assistance and Social Services Center, Ieriķu Street 2B, Riga.
