SOCIAL PEDAGOGUE
Project Objective:
The project aims to provide children with behavioral and addiction problems, as well as their families, with individually tailored, comprehensive support based on collaboration among specialists from various fields. This enables families to receive necessary assistance in a timely and coordinated manner in one location.
Service Provision Period: from November 2026 to August 2029.
Key Responsibilities:
SA Service:
Participates in information analysis from MA service and provides support and consultations in accordance with the developed Support Plan. Teaches children social skills, self-help and self-care skills, provides emotional and social support, develops emotion regulation abilities and promotes healthy peer relationships. Collaborates with educational institutions to ensure child protection and helps address behavioral, academic and social problems (conflicts, absences, truancy, offenses, etc.).
Informs SA service social worker of observations and significant changes related to child behavior. After consultation cycles, prepares recommendations for the child and their caregiver and submits recommendations to SA social worker. Participates in interim evaluation of Support Plan implementation (after 6 months) and upon completion of SA service participates in assessing progress of child and caregiver.
Attends supervision (1× monthly), participates in team meetings (1× monthly or more frequently if needed) and engages in professional development activities. When necessary, ensures information exchange with cooperation partners. Adheres to ethics, data protection and confidentiality principles in work.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (first cycle higher education) in pedagogy or social work.
- Social pedagogue qualification or social worker qualification (if the study program includes a pedagogy-related study component of at least six credits or at least 160 hours) (Cabinet Regulation No. 569 point 10).
- Experience in the past three years performing professional social pedagogue work with children or families (minimum 24 months of accumulated work experience).
Project Implementation Location:
Daugavpils State City Municipality Institution "Social Service" in cooperation with the foundation "Latvijas Bērnu atbalsta fonds" and the association "Resiliences centrs".
Remuneration: 50 eiro/consultation.
