Riga Social Service Riga Social Service announces an open competition for a social worker position working with families and children (profession code 2635 03) Riga Social Service is a subordinate institution of the Welfare Department of Riga City Municipality that provides social assistance, organizes and delivers social services, and provides assistant services to residents of Riga. The position aims to provide professional support in addressing social problems for families with children, families with children facing unemployment issues, and families with children with functional disabilities. You will be responsible for: identifying social problems in families with children and assessing their social situation; conducting social work with families with children where a child-friendly environment is not being provided; informing and consulting clients about their rights to social assistance and services, and the possibilities for their realization, as well as clients' responsibilities in receiving social services and assistance; creating client files, regularly documenting the social case management process in the file, and ensuring necessary documentation for service provision; managing the course of social case resolution; using the Municipality's social assistance information system SOPA and other databases in your work; organizing communication with clients and other institutions; providing regular information to the guardianship authority about children in out-of-home care; preparing assessments on client cooperation in problem-solving, communication organization, decisions made regarding assistance or services, etc. We expect: second-level professional or academic higher education in social work or charitable social work, or a student studying in the field of social work who has completed third-year studies and continues in the fourth year; good knowledge of Latvian; ability to navigate regulatory documents; excellent computer and office equipment skills; contact culture and ability to interact with people; ability to make independent decisions within your competence.
