Rīgas Sociālais dienests Rīgas Sociālais dienests announces a competitive recruitment for a social worker position working with families and children (profession code 2635 03) Rīgas Sociālais dienests is a subordinate institution of the Welfare Department of Rīga City Municipality that provides social assistance, organizes and delivers social services, and ensures assistant services to residents of Rīga through the municipality. The purpose of this position is to provide professional support in addressing social problems for families with children, families with children experiencing unemployment issues, and families with children with functional disabilities. You will be responsible for: identifying families with children facing social problems and assessing their social situations; conduct social work with families with children where conditions are not conducive to child development; inform and advise clients about their rights to social assistance and services, the possibilities for accessing them, and client responsibilities in receiving social services and assistance; create and maintain client files, regularly document the case management process, and ensure necessary documentation for service provision; manage the progression of case resolution; use the Municipality's social assistance information system SOPA and other databases in your work; organize meetings with clients and other institutions; provide regular information to the Child Protection Authority regarding children in out-of-home care; prepare reports on client cooperation in problem resolution, meeting organization, decisions regarding assistance or services, etc. We expect: second-level professional or academic higher education in social work or charitable social work, or a student currently studying in the field of social work who has completed third-year studies and continues in the fourth year; good knowledge of Latvian language; ability to navigate regulatory documents; excellent computer and office equipment skills; communication skills and ability to interact with people; ability to make independent decisions within your competence.
