Rīgas Sociālais dienests Rīgas Sociālais dienests announces a recruitment competition for the position of social worker for family and children services (profession code 2635 03) Rīgas Sociālais dienests is a subordinate institution of the Welfare Department of Riga City Municipality that provides social assistance, organizes and delivers social services, and ensures assistant services to residents of Riga through the municipality. The position's purpose is to provide professional support in addressing social problems for families with children, families with children experiencing unemployment issues, and families with children with functional disabilities. Your responsibilities will include: identifying social problems in families with children and assessing their social situation; conducting social work with families with children where a child development-friendly environment is not being ensured; informing and consulting clients about their rights to social assistance and services, implementation possibilities, and client participation responsibilities in receiving social services and assistance; creating client files, regularly documenting the social case management process, and ensuring necessary documentation for service provision; managing the course of social case resolution; using the Municipality's social assistance information system SOPA and other databases in your work; organizing communication with clients and other institutions; ensuring regular information provision to the guardianship authority regarding children in out-of-family care; preparing opinions on client cooperation in problem-solving, communication organization, decisions regarding assistance or services, etc. We expect: second-level professional or academic higher education in social work or charitable social work, or students studying in the field of social work who have completed third-year studies and continue into the fourth year; good knowledge of Latvian; ability to navigate regulatory documents; excellent computer and office equipment skills; communication culture and ability to interact with people; ability to make independent decisions within your competence.
