Smiltene Municipality Social Service (Reg. No. 40900038133) is seeking a Social Worker for work with families and children.
We invite you to join our team as a social worker specializing in families with children — a professional who can provide support in complex life situations, promote family safety and well-being, and collaborate with various institutions in seeking joint solutions.

Your main responsibilities:
Conduct social work with families with children: identify social problems, assess social situations, and manage social cases;
In collaboration with clients, determine social problems and needs, develop social rehabilitation or cooperation plans;
Inform clients about available social services, social assistance, and other support resources;
Work with the unified municipal social assistance administration system (SOPA) and other information systems;
Visit clients at their place of residence;
Cooperate with state and municipal institutions in resolving clients' social issues;
Conduct preventive work to prevent the emergence of social problems. Cooperate with other state and municipal institutions in resolving the client's social problems;
Perform work across various territories of Smiltene Municipality, visiting reception points of institutions and providing mobile social work throughout the municipality.
We will value in you:
Professional higher education in social work or charitable social work (second-level professional education);
Understanding of social case management principles;
Ability to identify and analyze clients' social problems, their causes and consequences;
Knowledge of regulations in the field of social services and social assistance;
Skills in preparing letters, reports, and statements;
Good computer and office equipment skills, experience with information systems;
Ability to express your opinion argumentatively and make decisions in non-standard situations;
Ability to work in a team, take initiative, and accept responsibility;
Excellent Latvian language skills;
Category B driver's license.
